Eric Snider's Blackjack for Palm Powered devices

Soon after returning from CES 2025 in Vegas, I was sent Eric Snider's Blackjack for Palm Powered devices to review. I actually ended up winning about US$80 at the tables in Vegas, but I was using a card to help me with my bets and could have used this game to practice before my trip. I will now be prepared for next year after playing this game on my Tungsten T3.
The game installs the same way as most Palm applications, and it takes advantage of the full 320x480 displays on the Tungsten T3, T5, and Tapwave Zodiac. You can play the game in landscape or portrait modes; I spent about 90% of the time in landscape since that felt more like a real table to me. The game requires no instructions to begin playing, but there is also a good help file for new players.
I enjoyed playing Eric Snider's Blackjack, and I highly recommend it to Palm Powered device owners who like this card game. You can play a few hands while waiting in line and take chances you wouldn't normally take at a real table. For example, I bet the maximum most of the time to try to win big.
Eric Snider's Blackjack is set up for one player to play against the computer, and there is no functionality to play against others via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or IR. I think playing via Bluetooth against a buddy would be fun, and I hope that wireless functionality is added in the future.
You can place bets from $1 to $500, and you have to buy chips in increments of $100 or $500 to play the table. There are game options and casino options (insurance, double after split, dealer hit, number of decks) so you can vary the gameplay. You can also check your stats to see how many hands have been played, won, and lost, how many Blackjacks you and the dealer have been dealt, and the status of your funds. |
